We pay the Real Living Wage - you can find out what the current rate is by checking their official website

If you have experience or certain skills you may be offered a high rate of pay. We also reward our team with length of service related increases.

Our current rate of staff discount means you can purchase clothing and equipment at rock bottom prices; it’s one of our many ways of saying thank you! For those staying with us for a qualifying period you will be auto-enrolled into our comprehensive pension scheme. Looking after our team’s welfare is always at the top of our agenda

We provide tea, coffee, milk and normally a well-stocked draw of biscuits for our team – who doesn’t like a nice warm drink on a cold wet day! We have a dedicated staff kitchen with all the essentials you could need, a dedicated break area and a safe place for you to leave your belongings during your shift.

We're always working to improve our team and customer experience and you'll likely find yourself getting your hands dirty during your time with us. As a family run business you can expect to muck in with routine maintenance and improvements around the store. It’s all part of our culture; one where we all take ownership for moving our business forwards.

Culture & Expectations

We have high expectations for anyone who joins our family; this isn’t just ‘a job’ and the experience our customers have with us literally is our business. You can expect to be mucking in around the whole store and will become involved in all aspects of our operation. From cleaning to serving we all do our bit regardless of our roles. It’s an incredibly rewarding environment and one where you really are at the heart of what we do.

Probation period – all new starters within our business go through a minimum 3 month probation period which can be extended. During this time we’ll check that you fit inside our business, family culture and support you in meeting the requirements of the role. We have clear expectations for our team and expect you to be committed and in-tune with our business needs.

You’ll be employed for a set number of hours per week which will normally fall during our opening hours. However, you may be needed to work later or earlier depending upon the business need and flexibility is essential.

When it comes to training, we'll provide the key essentials to get you up and running. We routinely have brands visit the store for specific training and our core team are always on hand to support your learning. You’ll find yourself becoming an expert in all things outdoors before you know it.
